Basic Training For Oil And Chemical Tanker Cargo Operations

Course Description

The aim of the course is to give seafarers the essential education and training in tanker cargo operations to meet the Knowledge, Understanding and Proficiency (KUP) requirements set out in the specific part of the following:

Table A-V/1-1-1 

Function: Oil and chemical tanker cargo operations
Competence: Contribute to the safe cargo operation of oil and chemical tankers

  • Take precautions to prevent hazards

  • Apply occupational health and safety precautions and measures

  • Carry out firefighting operations

  • Respond to emergencies

  • Take precautions to prevent pollution of the environment from the release of oil or chemicals

 

There are three outcomes of the training:

  • The learner knows the properties of oil and chemicals and the hazards associated with them.

  • The learner is able to apply health, safety and environmental precautions and measures in working on oil and chemical tankers.

  • The learner is able to carry out safe oil and chemical tanker cargo operations.

Eligibility

  • All participants undertaking the training must have completed the tanker firefighting course and have Basic STCW Courses of any administration included in the IMO list of STCW Parties (White List).

Note:

  • Ratings & Trainees will be issued with a Certificate of Proficiency (CoP) in Basic Oil & Chemical Tanker Cargo Operations, upon successful completion of the course

  • UK CoC Holders will be issued with a Certificate of Training (CoT) in Basic Oil & Chemical Tanker Cargo Operations, upon successful completion of the course. The candidates have to submit the CoT to UK MCA to get their Endorsement.

  • Non-Indian participants are required to hold a Valid Student Visa to India to attend the course. For students from countries where embassies do not issue Student Visas for short courses, a Business or relevant visa may be submitted, provided it includes the endorsement: "Maritime Training at HIMT Offshore." Additionally, HIMT will also provide the Visa Letter, if required, upon successful booking of the course.

  • UK MCA Approved TFF Certificate

  • Basic STCW Courses of any administration included in the IMO list of STCW Parties (White List)

  • Student Visa (for foreign candidates)

  • UK CoC (Only for Officers)

  • 2 Passport Size Photos

  • Student Visa (for foreign candidates)

Details

  • Candidates need to carry their original passport and CDC on the first day of the course for Identity verification.

  • Batch will be confirmed subject to having minimum of 3 participants in the batch.
