CoP Guidance for Students Enrolling in UK MCA Approved IGF Courses
Basic IGF Course:
Upon successful completion of the Basic IGF Training Course, candidates will be issued with the Basic IGF Certificate of Proficiency (CoP).
Note: Issuance of the Basic IGF CoP is issued only if the candidate has completed the UK MCA Approved Tanker Fire Fighting course.
Advanced IGF Course:
Upon successful completion of the Advanced IGF Training Course, candidates will be issued an Advanced IGF Course Training Certificate.
To obtain the Advanced IGF CoP, candidates must fulfill the following STCW V/3, Regulation-8 requirements:

Complete at least one month of approved seagoing service on a ship subject to the IGF Code, AND
-
Participate in a minimum of three bunkering operations. However, as candidates will complete two bunkering operations on the simulator as part of the Advanced IGF Training Course, the participants would need to additionally only complete at least one bunkering to be eligible for the CoP.
2.1 Issuance of Advanced IGF Certificate of Proficiency (CoP) Process
2.1.1 Submission of Required Documents:
After completing the necessary seagoing service, candidates must report to HIMT Offshore and submit the original copies of the following:

Report of Seagoing Service: This report must follow the format shared by HIMT.

Company Letter: A letter from the company confirming the sea-time and bunkering activities.

Advanced IGF Course Certificate issued by HIMT Offshore
HIMT Offshore will verify the submitted documents. If they meet the requirements, the Advanced IGF CoP will be issued. Please note that HIMT Offshore will retain the verified Sea Service Report, Company Letter and the Advanced IGF Course Certificate.
2.1.2. Guidance for Candidates Applying for the IGF CoP:
Candidates are required to email HIMT Offshore (help@himtmarine.com) at least 1 week before visiting physically, to allow for document verification and to expedite the CoP issuance process. Additionally, the following documents must be submitted via email:

Report of Seagoing Service: This report must follow the format shared by HIMT.

Company Letter: Confirming the sea-time and bunkering.

Upon receipt and verification of the documents, candidates will be given an appointment to visit HIMT Offshore for CoP issuance. During the visit, candidates must bring the following original documents:

2.1.3. Exceptional Circumstances:
If a candidate is on board and unable to visit HIMT Offshore in person, the candidate’s company must sign an understanding agreement with HIMT Offshore. Please mail help@himtmarine.com for further information.
